About This Event

In this deeply moving production, Poetivist weaves theatrical poetry into a transformative exploration of grief, mental health, and resilience. Inspired by the loss of his brother-figure to suicide, Dear Ife invites audiences into an intimate space of remembrance and healing.

From the haunting resonance of folk melodies to the raw emotion of spoken word, this performance unfolds as a poetic ritualโ€”where sorrow and solace intertwine, and self-expression becomes a lifeline. In a striking shift, it moves beyond personal grief to reflect on the fragility of life and the collective experience of loss.

Through symbolic movement and atmospheric soundscapes, the performance transforms into a shared act of catharsis, blurring the lines between artist and audience. Each poem offers a new conversation, a refined moment of reflection, and a new path to understanding our collective emotions at a time of uncertainty.

This performance is commissioned by Jinn Records, UK, with support from the British Council, Ghana, and a dynamic team of theatre artists, shaping the poems into a visceral journey of remembrance and renewal. Witness the power of art as it turns grief into resilience, sorrow into strength, and silence into a song.
