About This Event

The story of Kwame Nkrumah is one that is both riveting and edging in his quest to gain independence for Ghana and liberate the whole continent. Sterling partnership and Village Minds Production in its quest to bring you authentic and original theatre makes a deep dive into the events that led to the 1948 riots where the unfortunate deaths of veterans, Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey occured

It is this event that intensified the hunger for self-government and subsequent independence. In between these events we present narratives that have never been heard, close calls and the schemes. Characters like Mimi, Bobo and Kofi Baako provide vital information about the not-so-political life of Kwame Nkrumah that has rarely been put out there. This play is written by Ghanaian lawyer Kwesi Anim Addo and produced by Village Minds Production in collaboration with sterling Partnership.
