Odwira Festival Bans Could Spark Chaos

Odwira Festival Bans Could Spark Chaos

Filmmaker Kofi Asamoah is raising alarms over the Odwira Planning Committee’s recent bans on DV-plated vehicles, indecent dressing, and unlicensed firearms at this year’s festival. He warns these rules could cause confusion and even violence, especially since DV plates are legally registered and shouldn’t be restricted.

Asamoah also questions the vague ban on indecent dressing, pointing out how cultural differences might lead to misunderstandings, especially among foreign visitors. He urges proper legal clarity and involvement from authorities like the DVLA to avoid chaos and keep the festival’s focus on its rich cultural heritage.
